Frequently Asked Questions
Please contact us about anything else relating to your project

Q. Where do I begin when planning my building project ?

A. Usually your building process will begin with organising plans and specifications.
Most building work undertaken will require building approval by your local authority.
Plans are required before entering into a building contract and finance approval.

Q. How can Bortarae Builders assist me in planning my project ?

A. From organising an architect / draftsperson to sub-contracting other trades,
we can assist you at whatever level you desire. Leave the total project management
to us and our network of dedicated professional trades.

Q. When I receive building & financial approval, what happens next ?

A. The next stage requires you to enter into a BSA (Building Services Authority)
contract with Bortarae Builders to ensure your project runs smoothly and to your
requirements. BSA contracts are designed to fully comply with all the requirements
of the Domestic Building Contracts Act 2000.

Q. How long will my project take to complete ?

A. Naturally every project is unique, from the addition of a new deck to a complete
multi-storey dwelling. At Bortarae Builders, we work as hard as we can to accommodate
your needs and timeframe and as such give you an accurate period of completion.
(Naturally this cannot take into account periods of weather etc.) As an example, it
normally takes anywhere between 16-20 weeks for a 200m2 single level home
on a level block.

Q. What building materials do you use ?

A. Our projects are constructed from various types of materials. Some clients prefer
their homes to be built out of a composite range of light weight materials including
colorbond and fibre cement cladding. Other clients prefer brick and tile. Whatever
your taste, Bortarae Builders can assist.

Q. What region/s do Bortarae Builders Service ?

A. We are based in the Redlands, servicing Brisbane City, Redlands
and closely surrounding regions.
